Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg’s Team RED have earned the chance to be part of fnatic's new academy squad after sweeping Team BLUE in the grand final of GAMERZ Season 2.
The second season of the esports reality show 'GAMERZ’ concluded last night after three weeks of competition showcased the two teams in the grand final, who then duked it out for a chance to join fnatic’s ranks as their new academy team.
The series started on Team RED’s map pick, Mirage, where Abdisamad "SpawN" Mohamed’s Team BLUE quickly jumped out to a 6-0 lead on their CT-side. However, Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg's Team RED brought the deficit back late in the first half to secure the 8-7 lead at the half. The second half was highly contested as both teams traded rounds until the very end, with Alexander "AlekS" Andersson and the rest of Team RED taking the map, 16-14.
SpawN’s Team BLUE looked to even the series on their map pick, Inferno, but Devilwalk’s men had other plans. Team RED dominated the first half, not allowing Team BLUE any room for error as the CT-sided side took a huge 13-2 lead going into the second.
The second half started well for Team BLUE, who secured the pistol thanks to Kamil "kamil" Kamiński coming out on top of a 1v1. However, it was all for nought as Team BLUE's comeback hopes were soon crushed by their opponents, who cruised to a 16-3 victory.

According to fnatic, the winning team will get to bootcamp at GameEffect, in Jönköping. After this, the organisation will "offer selected members" the chance to become part of the academy programme "for a minimum of six months".
